Objectives of CEED3

Develop an enhanced European framework for research related to the development of diabetes diagnostic tools, bringing together the best researchers, the best samples and data sets for discovery and validation and the best development platforms for clinical tools and ensures widespread dissemination

Identify potential genetic and non-genetic biomarkers that can be used to differentiate between subtypes of diabetes

Develop a clinical tool to aid the diagnosis of monogenic diabetes

Identify and validate genetic and non-genetic biomarkers that can be used to identify individuals with early beta-cell dysfunction and use these to develop diagnostic tools for use in clinics

Identify and validate genetic and non-genetic biomarkers that can be used in early identification of patients with type 2 and monogenic diabetes at increased risk of developing chronic diabetic vascular complications and use these to develop diagnostic tools for use in clinics

Disseminate knowledge and provide training on diabetes differential diagnosis and CEED3 results to all potentially interested patient, professional and societal groups
