The Oxford team are based in the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM) and the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics (WTCHG).

OCDEM is one of the leading centres for basic and clinical research into diabetes and related metabolic conditions in the UK and Europe, with groups active in integrative physiology, genetics and genomics, and cellular biology. It forms part of the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre.  The WTCHG is one of the premier centres worldwide involved in the study of the genetics of complex traits. 

The Oxford team will contribute to the CEED3 project through the human-related research, and professional training. They are led by Professor Mark McCarthy, the Robert Turner Professor of Diabetic Medicine at OCDEM. Professor McCarthy is a leader in the field of type 2 diabetes genetics and co-leads the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre.
